I sufferered severe reactions to MACA as well, so I wanted to leave a review. I began taking Maca in my daily smoothies along with Hemp protein. At first, I was a little more energetic/awake. After a few weeks of taking it 2-3 times/week I began noticing a racing heart a few hours after taking it with severe anxiety, sweats and nausea. IN addition, I had TERRIBLE cystic acne!! Once this began, I removed all other suppliments from my diet, then I took Maca two months later to see how I reacted, and that’s when I realized that it was the Maca giving me the anxiety all along. I couldn’t drink coffee for months during and after using it or my heart would race and i’d feel extremely anxious, which is unusual for me.

If your thyroid is already healthy, I wouldn’t recommend taking MACA. It can over stimulate your thyroid and nervous system to an unhealthy level. Start slowly and discontinue use immediately if you feel anxiety or see changes in your mood. It can also cause oily skin, acne and shrink your breasts. Ladies beware!!!
